Boston-Power Founder and CEO Dr. Christina Lampe-Önnerud Named to Inaugural Techonomist List

Lithium-ion Battery Innovator Included Among Prestigious Thought Leaders Who Have Already Changed the World

WESTBOROUGH, Mass. – August 12, 2010 – Boston-Power®, Inc. Founder and CEO Dr. Christina Lampe-Önnerud – a pioneer in next-generation lithium-ion batteries and energy storage – has been named a “Future Techonomist” by Techonomy. Facebook Founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg; Baidu Co-founder and CEO Robin Li; and Allan Goldston, President of the U.S. Program for the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation join Dr. Lampe-Önnerud among just 15 game-changers earning the distinction.

According to Techonomy, Future Techonomists are people who “have already changed our world, and from whom we can expect to see more transformative ideas. We single them out because the best ideas often come from people who don’t have a vested interest in the status quo, and see no reason not to try to invent better ways of doing things themselves. That is the techonomic spirit, pure and simple.”

The Techonomist list was published in conjunction with Techonomy’s 2010 Techonomy Conference, held last week in Lake Tahoe, Calif. Speakers included Bill Gates, Reid Hoffman, Founder of LinkedIn, and Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google.

Techonomy is a media enterprise founded earlier this year by internationally respected industry watchers David Kirkpatrick, Peter Petre and Brent Schlender, former Fortune writers and editors. Its aim is to “persuade leaders that invention – both technological and social – is central for all organizations. While technology, with its rapid and often exponential advance, can bring about change that is disturbingly fast, it enables us to solve problems that would otherwise stymie us. The viewpoint is inherently optimistic.”

Techonomists comprise three groups – past, present and future. Names such as Machiavelli, Newton and Marie Curie represent the past. Included among the present are Steve Jobs, Tim Berners-Lee, John Chambers, Warren Buffett, Bono and Oprah Winfrey. The complete lists can be found here.
