Internationally Recognized Battery Innovator Joins Exclusive Group of Influential Executives in Furthering Engineering and Economic Sciences in Sweden, Europe and Throughout the World

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.June 15, 2010Boston-Power®, Inc., the rapidly growing provider of next-generation lithium-ion batteries, today announced that company founder and CEO Dr. Christina Lampe-Önnerud has been elected a lifetime member of the Royal Swedish Academy of Engineering Sciences, IVA. The world’s oldest engineering academy, IVA was founded in 1919 with the mission to “promote the engineering and economic sciences and the development of industry for the benefit of society.”

Widely respected throughout Europe and globally, IVA’s nearly 1,000 Swedish and foreign members comprise a network of influential executives from business and industry, universities and the public sector. Its activities are financed through contributions from corporations, project grants and government grants. The academy focuses particular attention on the natural sciences, engineering and economics, working on an international scale while also promoting a closer relationship with the EU commission.
